Happy Birthday to my man - and Happy Father's Day to all you wonderful Dads!!

Tim did the dishes Sunday night. For those of you who get cleanup help in the kitchen all the time and think that's not worth mentioning, I'm here to tell you it is. Because Tim was one of those husbands who had certain roles that he fulfilled, and the rest were -- well, best left to the wife. He does so much, inside and out, that dishes (one thing he never volunteered for) were not something I ever asked him to help with. He has often helped with general cleanup, in the kitchen and everywhere else, and he's a way better cook than me. But actually loading the dishwasher or washing dishes was a little like folding girls' panties for him: someone else's job.
So why am I telling you this? To acknowledge that he is a work in progress, and every year is a little better. He's 54 on June 18, and I have lived with him for 31 of those years; they haven't all been perfect for either of us. But as we also celebrate Father's Day on Sunday (he gets the two biggies back to back every year), I just wanted to use this space to tell the world (or the few people in it who stop by here on occasion) that I feel very grateful for the goofy, hard-working, duty-bound, creative, honorable, and yes, loving man that is the father of our awesome children, grandpa to our incredible grandies, and just TOO SEXY FOR THIS BLOG - TOO SEXY FOR THAT SONG -- TOO SEXY FOR US ALL!

I woke up this morning to hearing my husband doing the dishes that didn't get done before bed last night. (It was a rough night). Nothing is sweeter than a man who will help and show love in so many different ways. Fun post! Happy Birthday Dad!
